As Built Plan and Front Photograph Shown Below
A Personal Note
I genuinely enjoyed working on this project. The owner’s requirements were ambitious, but they were clear, and they provided a strong framework for the design. Large gathering spaces, a substantial kitchen island, a dining area capable of comfortably seating ten people, and a seamless relationship between the house and the site all became important drivers of the plan.
As the design evolved, I felt it was beginning to achieve those goals in a meaningful way. Unfortunately, the project ended before it could be fully developed and documented.
Not every project reaches the construction phase. Sometimes circumstances change, priorities shift, or plans simply take a different direction. Regardless, I still believe this concept showed considerable promise and remains one of my favorite unbuilt studies. This one came to a close in the schematic design phase And I really would have liked to have had the opportunity to further develop the concepts shown above. Greatest plans of mice and men I guess.
